i'm a fan of stephen colbert and is very funny on his show, but it seems to me that a congressional hearing is not the place for that kind of humor. i understand the reason why members of congress want to try to bring attention to the issue and thought his celebrity could help them do that, especially with young people, for example, who don't pay attention to politics. but i'm not sure it succeeded in doing that. it seemed to me that it ended up mocking congress more than it brought attention...
